Stand Tall And Be Resilient. Always Pick Up From Failure.

Image
“ In today’s world, paradoxically, it is the boldest action that is often the safest. Remaining where you are, in a world that is changing so rapidly is, in fact, the most dangerous of all places to be in” ~ Hakeem Belo-Osagie . Hesitation, procrastination, fear of disappointment, criticism. And fear of frustration or fear of failure have proved to be the main reasons why people remain in one place – stagnation. Yet it hurts. Disappointment and frustration tend to be the immediate obstacles to any change and thus they are the underlying forces towards hesitations, procrastinations and fear which together may eventually lead to quitting. Such a sad sequence of accumulated negative and destructive emotions! Sometimes they go a long way to strip the confidence, boldness and faith even self-respect in people. Robert T. Kiyosaki points out in his all-time bestseller, Rich Dad Poor Dad that, to most people, the pain and feeling of disappointment and frustration is more ‘unbearable’ than the ...

Weekending With Nceku, Siza Mdlongwa and Thembi at The Good Place

Image
I had the blessedness of connecting with some great souls yesterday evening. With Thembi we discussed the troubling issues that are being faced by women. I wasn't aware of the fact that the issue of legal age of marriage is still an issue in this country. More importantly we talked about how the boy child is gradually becoming one marginalised element of the society too. Thembi is a high spirited, open-minded but fierce and determined woman. She is an activist at a national-level NGO moved to transform the affairs of the girl child in the modern Africa.  With Nceku we shared  the delicacy and uniqueness of the cuisine that is being offered by The Good Place. He was cheery and hopeful of the general livelihood of Bulawayans and gave people a tease of his unique service to the world.  Well, small crowd with big-guns. It's December after all, so we had the privillege of enjoying the exquisite sounds of Siza Mdlongwa. The guy is uniquely talented, driven with a humble and rel...

Bulawayo, My Home

Image
Apparently, Dr Nkomo’s statue is the only one in Zimbabwe that has been erected to date in honour of a political icon. - Phathisa Nyathi on The Chronicle , 2020 July 1 There's no place like home. This timeless expression applies in our case more than it normally does to an average person. Bulawayo is and means much more. We've sort of espoused that mantra of saying the best country in Zimbabwe is Bulawayo. I mean, we've once been considered the cleanest city in Southern Africa. Now, that's not our main cause of our Bulawayo pride. Our love and pride in the city of kings and queens, is much more rooted in the various meaningful things that define this southern city that's a home to more than 650000 people. It dates back to before colonisation.  It was back in the 1890s that we saw the roots of something worthy of note. The BSAC is widely known and understood to have itched to start their developments and settlements in this beautiful city. But the nature and prowess ...

How God's Healing Promises Can Help You Pray In The Midst of Covid19

Image
At a point when the world is ravaged by a deadly disease like Covid19, it is is very important to hold on to The Lord's healing promises. Today, global confirmed cases are close to 20 million people. People are afraid.  I am afraid. Very much. My wife and 26 year old daughter are nurses. My sisters-in-law are nurses. They are all working on the front-line - serving covid19 patients.  Being a pastor, I am moving from here and there ministering. I run a small business along with that, where my exposure to the public is quite pronounced. To think, how can I make it, each day? I mean since both me and my wife come back home from such a great exposure to threat zones.  As if that is not enough, I have heard friends who have contracted the virus, and some people I have known enough to relate with who have succumbed to the disease. This makes it very close to home. I think, many people can relate to my fears. My daughter who is a nurse in Johannesburg, South Africa sent m...

Image
There is a difference between reading the Bible and studying the Bible. So, here I am going to differentiate that, then we can develop more on why people who seek meaningful growth in their lives with Christ should choose one of those and be able to do so in just 5 minutes everyday. Further, I'll address the purpose of this article - how to study the Bible in 5 minutes. What The Holy Bible Says About Studying The Bible "But without faith  it is  impossible to please  him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and  that  he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." - Hebrews 11:6 "So then faith  cometh  by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." - Romans 10:17 "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." - Matthew 4:4 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayes...
